2 quarts of oil gone in 1000 miles...Any aftermarket warranty thatll help ?
So i just bought an 05 g35 coupe 5at with 90000miles a little over a month ago from a private seller , I changed the oil with 5 quarts of 10-w30 synthetic the day after i bought it and checked this morning and im down 2 quarts ( just a bit above the L on the stick) which btw is the biggest pain in the *** to use.....Now i have been driving it hard since day 1 but i dont think 2 quarts is reasonable
So i call infiniti service to see what they can do after reading on the forum that this is a common issue and they said im out of luck since im out of warranty and that i could not do an oil consumption test since i dont have previous records of oil changes.. he actually said to buy some engine sludge remover and see if that helps lol
so i call the finance dept to see if i can add a infinity extended warranty and they said that my car is too old to qualify but they offered the fidelity insurance protection program which has different levels of coverage...
Does anyone have any experience with fidelity ? would it cover oil consumption issue ? i attached the 3 different programs it offers, it seems pretty good on paper ....
Please help i dont want to have to keep topping off coz in the long run itll cost more

You can try, but aftermarket warrantys are worthless! Only good warranty would be with Nissan, no one else! I believe the L on your dipstick indicates one quart low, put in a quart and find out. Also, you own a high mileage Infiniti quit "driving the **** out of it" unless you're willig to pay to play! New block w/b about 1/2 what you paid for your G. ![NOD](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif)

haha, i know i shouldnt be driving the **** out of it but trust me my last 4 vehicles have been a jeep wrangler , its hard not too , itll slowly phase out since im too old for this ish
If i were to get it , id def not put the claim in right away , the vehicle is perfectly fine as long as im checking and topping off , id probably wait a few months before even filing , however based on what people are saying its probably better to keep topping it off if an aftermarket warranty wont cover the repair

Just left the dealer for a stupid expensive oil change.....but its raining, its next to work and i just got paid so eff it. I asked about the oil issue and he said its a known issue obviously and using synthetic and sticking to regular oil changes will help slow it, but not stop it. That or like Gary C said switch the block.
