auto - manual HELP
Hey Guys,
So, i bought an auto G35 that I feel is in great condition and I love the car.... but now Im missing having a manual...
Can someone please talk me into keeping my Auto so I don't go crazy here. I mean I can sell mine and get another one but the one I have seems pretty tried and true! I would feel weird taking another risk getting another used G35 just to get a manual.....

I found a tranny, my concern is that I did some reading that a swap is several thousand, up to about 8k ... The threads I was reading seemed kinda old though, there was a thread I read on here that said so,done did the entire swap for 700 providing that they had the trans and what not gifted to them.
I wouldn't mind doing a swap, I feel like my car is in great shape and has little to no issues. No oil consumption (that I have found yet) and everything seems to be well taken care of and serviced. How much do you think it would cost start to finish??
Maybe I just might pull the trigger

Well assuming your tranny is in good shape, you should be able to sell your auto for at least (if not more than) the same as you pay for the 6mt. These cars are getting older and auto trannies blow cause people don't usually maintain properly. That said, the parts could be almost free + your time (listing, selling, etc). You may pay a little out of pocket cuz you'll still have to buy a clutch kit, the linkage and find a 6mt center console.
The rest you're just talking about labor, so it depends on how much you can do yourself. If that's not an option, call a couple reputable tranny shops. I think the biggest element you'd be talking about with a project like that is time. Gathering parts, time off the road during installation, etc. It's a decent sized project.

all my cars have been manual since i got my license at 16. After my son was born and i started thinking more conscious of my wife I bought the automatic. I love it, don't get me wrong, But i recently had a convention for my company and watched like 3 of the fast and furious movies on my flight to and from and maaaan. I know it sounds stupid but i miss driving a manual, even though obviously F&F is fictitious and you can't really drive like that lol....
I'm just too impressionable haha

Man, its not stupid. I have never owned an auto because I like DRIVING the vehicle. I like autos in traffic, but that's just not a good enough reason to not get what I want. I like the 2mpg better gas mileage, I like being able to 100% control shift points, I like not having to worry about the failures and maintenance of an auto (not to mention the cost of repairs), and so on.
So, I can't see myself ever buying an auto unless its just a cruisin machine (like a big fat caddy).

So I'm in the middle of my ART pipe and Cat back exhaust install today....
Started with the passenger side CAT removal. Now that its off we noticed there is still a bolt thread in the header flange and the other 2 are on the cat. Should that one bolt still on the header be out?
The ART hardware includes 10 14mm bolts....is that 5 for each pipe or 4 for each pipe and 1 for each mounting bracket??
