What would you do?

I'm staring at my coupe, which is garage kept in my parents home while I'm away at school...Before anyone thinks I'm one of the 16 yrs olds that comes on here who's mom and dad bought their G, think again..lol I'm 22 and I bought the car myself...Anyways I had it washed and waxed for the winter, of course my father stupid Bimmer had car troubles "again" so with the crappy weather he woke my G up and used her for 3 days during bad northeast weather...Anyways, my car has never been through a car wash "hand wash only"...But with this winter cold, I'm having trouble finding a decent day to clean her up...My question is " Would you rather keep the car dirty, until you can find a nice winter day to clean her up? Or would you say screw it, she needs to be cleaned and I'm taking her to the car wash? I'm so torn...On one hand I don't want to see this dirt, and road salt on her any longer...But on the other, the risk at the car wash with swirl marks and scratches is huge...So, what would you do?

I feel your pain, I have never been to an automatic car wash in my life, only DIY washes, except with a rental. Why not take it to a detail shop where they can hand wash and clean up your baby, so you can tuck her away for the rest of her winter nap. If there are no shops around I would rather just take it to DIY wash and do it yourself.

Any chance you can find one of those "touch free" lazer type car washes??
I would not run her thru one of those beater brush types!
No way!

If you have wet salt on it, then you should get her washed no matter what.

If it's just dry salt powder, then it's better to leave her dry until you can
wash her in the spring.

If it's just dirty without any salt, you should just sponge bath her inside your
garage.

I've hand washed my car outside at 2am before in 18 degree weather Mainly becuase I had someplace to go the next morning.... But I've been known to do crazy things... Such as washing my car while it's snowing, raining, etc. If it's cold out, and you have an inclined driveway liike me, becareful about the water freezing onthe driveway... *ouch*....

Hey man, Im also 22 yrs old with an Ivory pearl G35c. Don't feel so bad, at least your parents let you keep it in the garage. Mine is sitting on the drive all year long and these Chicago winters suck. Anyways, if i were you, i would just hand wash the car the next time the weather gets decent. Its not worth the risk of having it scratched by the auto wash.

Wow, that's the longest run-on sentence I have ever seen. Make sure you take more English classes at school.

Back on topic, I would NOT leave your car dirty. Whatever you do, get it cleaned.

Tell your Dad to get rid of the Bimmer....as long as he has that he will have to use your G often.
