Difference between 03 and 05 Seats?
It's confusing, I'm buying 2005 seats but he needs me to swap his old 2003 seats into the 05 first.
Then I'll be putting the 2005 seats into my 2003 SEDAN.
I just need to know if there are any differences between coupe 03 and 05 seats.
I think with the coupes the big change came in 2006/2007, so are the 2005 seats exactly the same as the 2003's?
Thanks in advance for clarification, searching gave me no real answers here regarding the seats.

This is based on what I've seen throughout different websites before I purchased my 2006 g35 Coupe. 2003 ~ 2005 wont change much. Meaning, the seats are still the same. But hey! they are newer seats so should be better for you. Make sure you check that all the buttons work though... Ive read that some people's seat motor go out at some point.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Matt the wiring is different and will have to be spliced to get the buttons to all work properly. I found this out when I bought coupe seats that were supposedly from an 05 and should have been a direct plug and play, but what I got were 03 or 04 seats that didn't work in my 05 sedan. I'm too lazy to figure it out so I just sold the seats. Broke my heart, I was going to swap all 4 seats with black and already had a set of rears ready to purchase when I found out the fronts I bought weren't plug and play.
He wants 03 seats in his 05? Why would he do that?? Does the seller know that there's the airbag sensor in his 05 seats for turning on/off the passenger side airbag for 05+ G35 coupes?
To answer your question, yes the 05 coupe seats and 03s are different. 05 seats have power reclining on both sides, and an airbag sensor in the passenger seat bottom; 03 seats are both manual reclining, and might not have heating element inside. On wiring, 05 seats are 12-pin on both sides; 03 driver side may be 4 or 12-pin, and 4-pin on the passenger side. So to swap 03 seats into 05 coupe, while the driver side could work fine (losing power reclining of course), on the passenger side you'd have to also reconnect the airbag sensor in order to get the passenger side airbag to function properly. It might still work for him but to me it just makes no sense to go that route. I think you should make sure the seller knows what exactly he's getting into.

Thanks very much for the information guys, great detail and advice!!
I will go digging in the corresponding FSM's for the coupe 03, 05, and sedan 03 and look up wiring and air bag details.
I'll be sure to inform the seller of the potential wiring/air bag issues with the swap, this has something to do with his wife liking the 03 seats better. Never argue with a vagina.
