Factory alarm not working?

When I hit lock the security light is supposed to stay solid for a couple seconds then start flashing, right? I left the window open, locked the car, waited for five minutes, unlocked the car, opened the door and the alarm didn't go off? Anyway of fixing this?

You locked and unlocked your car why would you think the alarm is supposed to sound just because you left the window down? Have you tried using your panic button. Or lock you car with the drives window down, reach inside and try the door handle see what results you get. The light on the dash should be blinking once your alarm is set!

The panic button does work. I did lock the car with the windows down. I then unlocked the lock with my hand and opened the door and nothing happened. Tried that on my friends g35 sedan and the alarm went off

Umm. You unlocked the car which in turn shuts off the alarm.

By unlocked I meant I moved the lock actuator to the unlock position with my hand. As if i was a robber trying to steal the car. When you unlock the lock actuator and open the door, it should make the alarm go off. It doesn't. I tried the exact the same thing on another g35 and it went off.

Welcome to Rocket Science 101

Roll your drivers window down. Lock your car using the key fob and put it in your pocket. Now reach thru the open window and try to open your door using the door opener....alarm will sound. If not visit your local Nissan dealership, they'll trace down what's wrong.
