Anyone have this problem before?? VDC SES SLIP lights
My VDC SES SLIP lights are on
Car wont go above 5mph, It started up perfect drove to the store when I was leaving I turned the car on and lights stayed on took me 30 minutes to get home, Any ideas? Drove in a pretty good rainstorm last night would that be why?
Also when I was leaving the house I noticed I couldn't open the doors with the key fob I had to use the actual key it just kept beeping, the keyless start worked fine tho coincidence?
need to pull codes today

forgot to mention when I reset the car (take negative battery terminal off ) the car starts up fine and the lights go off, I can then drive normal until I shut the car off then the problem starts up again
Search for "limp mode"....basically something is wrong and the computer goes into limp mode so that you can't do any more damage to the motor. It limits you to 5mph to get to a safe place
Do some more research. There are quite a few threads on this site pertaining to this issue. Including one I started. Pull codes and go from there. Problem for me was a a bad throttle body assembly and a faulty wheel speed sensor. But other people have had other problems causing the same issue.
Figures as soon as I rent the scanner from AZ the lights go off and no codes thrown
I still think the rainstorm I drove in the prior day had something to do with it. never hit any big puddles I know of

Dont just check for fault codes that have thrown a CEL or the slip/vdc lights. Check for any pending codes in the system as well. Sometimes that can tell you a lot about whats going on in the background. But you probably wont be able to do that with any scanner from an auto parts store. They're to basic. Try a dealership or service shop. They have the required equipment to look that stuff up. But will probably charge you ~$50 for a scanner diag.
