vandalism

Someone broke in to my car this morning and left key marks on the passenger/driver door side, bumper, and driver side rear panel. Would it better to have insurance cover the cost to get it done or it shouldn't cost that much to fix?

Depends on how bad the damage is! If you have $500 deductible like most of us and the cost to fix exceeds that figure let the insurance company cover it. This shouldn't go against your record or raise the cost of insurance since it's a no fault incident. Time to get an aftermarket alarm if you can't secure your car in a safe place!

well I do have aftermarket alarm, Compustar. I live downtown log beach and park in an underground garage. No signal because where it is.

yea paint work is expensive. Even if you have a $1000 deductible, It's probably still worth it to have insurance take care of it.

Just pay your deductible so your insurance can pay for the rest of the repairs. Body work is expensive.

Skyline if you have an alarm that makes enough noise that should scare the vandals away from your car! Doesn't your garage have vid cameras or locks to prevent this from happening? Can't think of anything nice to say about downtown Long Beaach....consider moving!

Use your insurance and get it done right. That's why you pay them so much damn money, right.

Not gonna do much when theres no camera and such. It seemed like they popped my hood and disconnected the speaker. another person got broke into too and they disconnected the battery on his. I got a space inside a closed gate so its safe now, no public access. i like where im staying right now but prob. move to palos verdes and buy a house. but at this time after it gets back from the shop, im thinking of trading it in for a 2013 Wrx hatchback.

it doesn't matter what alarm i have. i live in the upper floors and don't have a signal for anything to alert me. the car is in an underground garage four floors away from my place. the person that got broken into had a viper alarm so it was useless too. I got a gated parking now so its all cool.
