Well looks like the car is going in the bosyshop.

On the way hom the wife hit something on the freeway. My exhaust is dented up and the crossmember about halfway back is toast. The fender abover the wheel is fugged. The quater panel and the front bumper took a shot. I dunno what she hit but it must have been hard and BIG! Does anyone know how insurance works when it comes to this? Im worried about the exhaust. Do they have to replace it?

you probably do have to replace the exhaust, or at the very least, the pipes that were dented. Go aftermarket, get the fujistubo!

IIRC, insurance doesn't cover any aftermarket components unless you claim them on your policy beforehand. Good luck. Hope your wife is ok. I know it doesn't seem like anything physical based on your post, but when you say she hit something big, that must have freaked her out. I had an SUV spin out in front of me doing about 65. I just barely maneuvered around him. I was seeing flashes of that thing for a while when driving. Let us know how everything goes.

i guess depends on the insurance company.. mine, well previous car with nationwide insurance, got damaged, and they took care of every aftermarktet parts i had, but after that incident, they jacked up the premium like crazy.. it must have been something pretty big.. as long as she's okay that's all it matters.

This isn't 100% true. Most insurance companies actually cover your car in an "as-is" state; when you have full-coverage. If you make a claim and have them cover aftermarket parts they will almost force you to use a "stated value" policy as to avoid any confusion (on the next go-round). You bought the items, you have receipts and you had them installed on your car; your car is covered under insurance as a whole, not just stock parts of it.

This is my own knowledge of USAA's policies and a couple friend's of mine with Progressive.

Well I just talked with my buddy that owns a bodyshop. I think we'll just fix it without insurance. I think I might also do a color change.

Hey Steve,
I remember awhile back you mentioned you always wanted that 350z blue in a G35 and a bodykit. Maybe nows the time, how about doing a wide bodykit with the 350z blue. That would be sick!
