Wait, is the OP driving MT or AT? If I am not mistaken the MT G35 doesn't have the keyless start feature, but the AT G35 does.

 

the receiver in the car is the entire BCM. my car is a 6MT but I doubt it would matter, as this remote is simply not compatible, I just want the transmitter, anyone?

 

 

^^^ YES!!! thank you sir! I might try tapping the coil from the new remote in like this, do you think that would work? if I only connect one end?

I had a friend who is good at this stuff locate what he thinks is the antenna, just a 'trace' around the top half of the remote. so that is the transmitter, wonder whether i'd have better luck with this method or hacking into the trace and putting the coil in series there..... i think I'm going to try both, I'll post my findings!!!

 

I don't think that thing he's soldering to is actually the antenna, I'm pretty sure it's the crystal... but it might work anyways because it's attached to the board and will probably throw the signal further, just like when you touch the fob to your head or if you walk up close to a boombox/radio that's having trouble catching signal for a station you were listening to. I haven't actually tried it though with the fob.

Most antennas do only work with 1 wire. Im not sure if thats actually an antenna (The designation suggests its just a clock/oscillator), but antennas should be a certain length in order to function properly.

You could try one or the either, or both. You may be able to hit a sweet spot or something by doing both (no idea) However, antenna lengths are tuned for the frequency that they are transmitting. So Start with a longer piece of wire, press lock and unlock a coupe times, move back until it doesnt work anymore. Trim it, rinse and repeat to find optimal length.

 

Also, typically the casing on components like that are grounded (heat sinking, noise reduction) (Im assuming its a clock here) so he is essentially just tying that antenna to ground. So you could use and grounding spot, you might be able to find a more convenient one. Would be easy to check if the top of it is grounded with a multimeter.

Basically just put the key in the slot on the left side and drive for about 2 minutes then the remote will start working from a distance again
