Will I get smoked by my brothers new 04 mustang GT?

What aftermarket plenum allows you to get MAXIMUM performance and keep your stock cover on?

There are just too many darn factors involved...making it complicated will just create another debate and make this thread longer than necessary. Have to remember that the original question is '04 Mustang and '03 G Coupe...gotta keep it within scope of the question.
My main reason for liking the Crawford is the fact that its metal (I believe aluminum? correct me if I'm wrong.) Picked up a little trick years back from watching old S/C'd muscle cars running. They put ice on the top of the manifold... why? To make it and the air coming in colder. Just for fun, I took a zip lock, turned my car on, PACKED It with snow about a week ago to see what would happen. My temp gague in the car said it was heated to operating temp, yet my plenum was so cold you couldnt keep your hand down on it. I dont know how much of a benefit this is NA (compared to a SC'd setup) but theres my personal reason for liking the crawford and never wanting that giant heat soak of an engine cover back in.

A 6mt G will run about the same and the 5AT puts less power to the ground via drivetrain loss and will net slower ET's. And to the guy who put the power to weight ratio....learn to account for all factors of power for a car...the GT puts 302 lbs/torque! It has loads of low end power. Honestly, I say just race your friend but I'm thinking you will lose...not by much, maybe a car length or 2 by 80mph.
Not by much.....a car length or 2.....thats funny..

a car length especially 2 at 80MPH is a lot and I don't think that it will be by that much at that point. I do think that in a 1/4 mile, if the other guy is a good driver, the Mustang will be pulling slightly and many different factors will determine by how much and whether or not he will be playing catch up at that point. The issue here is gearing. The TC in the G will give you a big enough torque spike under load that you should have a slight advantage off the line partially because he has less margin for error. 3rd gear- particularly early in 3rd gear is where the AT G will have trouble with the Mustang- evening out as you rev up.

How much did your brother pay for his 04 Stang? I hope he got at least $5k off sticker, as the depreciation is probably that much already.
It's totally a driver's race and how well you launch. Now if you set up a mapped out road course and timed each other, you'd probably squeak by a little faster because the G handles better.

P Diddy --- He got a pretty sweet deal, I think. It was stickered at just about 27K and he ended up getting it for 18K. I'm not a fan of mustangs,(gotta respect the cobra, though) but these days you cant even by a piece of sh*t Hyandai for that price.

ClokWork- how is that funny, what do you think a 04 GT 5spd will run? what do you think a 03 G35 5AT will run?
Try and find the best 5AT for a G35 slip and I will find a GT 5spd slip and I bet I could find one that is about 3-5 tenths faster than the 5At G....

As far as the best time slip for a 5AT G vs the best for a GT Mustang- I agree but from what I've seen it goes likewise for a 6MT
