Brakes Problem w/ parking brake (5AT)

In my 5AT coupe, I was getting ready to activate the parking brake like always when I park. But I guess my foot didn't touch the pedal completely and I stepped too quickly and my foot slipped from the parking brake when I was trying to push it down. The pedal bounced right up after my foot slipped. Now the BRAKE light on my dash doesn't come off even if the parking brake is disengaged. However if I force the parking brake pedal up a little bit after it's been disengaged, the light comes off. So I'm thinking either the parking brake pedal is loosened or the parking brake sensor needs to be recalibrated. The parking brake itself doesn't appear to be functioning improperly. Any ideas on how to do this?

U probably smashed the button the pedal pushes when its all the way up to disengage the light. U have to look under and see.

Guess I busted the parking brake switch. I found a TSB for this exact issue... I called my dealer and the part itself costs $217 and 2-3+ hours of labor............

I didn't check ebay but a vendor on here sells the part for $160 so I might just buy it and try to fix this on my own. The TSB has all the steps, but it just looks like a headache lol

Alright so I finally took a look at the pedal and produced a ghetto $0 temporary fix. The switch/button (top circle) that the brake pedal (bottom circle) hits was jammed (not broken) so when the parking brake was disengaged, it wasn't reaching up all the way to where the button was. So I took a piece of plastic about a half inch wide and duct taped it to the pedal where it's supposed to hit the button. With the extra half inch, it finally hits the button and the BRAKE light is now off the dash when my parking brake is released.

Now I won't have to worry about it until it falls off again, at which point I'll just re-duct tape it again.
