Search for "axle click"

Yes the fix is applying lube to the splines in the rear hub. There's some how to's floating around.

What you're hearing is axle clicking. You're aware there's no reason to have the Infiniti fix this issue? Nissan is less expensive and if you can locate a Nissan trained independent mechanic the saving would be even greater!

I had it too and depending on your coverage (and the dealership) I had mine covered by my drivetrain warranty. I agree with Gary on the Infiniti vs. Nissan thing too.

If you're at ALL a car guy with some tools you could do it yourself as well- as mentioned above the DIY is very easy to follow and with minimal tools and about 2 hours (probably less if you know what you're doing) you could probably have it buttoned up.

The expensive part, if I recall, is the particular grease that is recommended... can be VERY expensive to get the EXACT stuff recommended- though some have offered alternatives in various threads.

Once fixed, however, that clicking is gone- so no fear... it's not a money pit issue.
