Like I said, I have yet to see any riced out Gs in my area and would be the first to back you up if I had. I'm not sure where you trained at but it definitely did not give you the opportunity to see the effort that some G owners throw into their whips.
Again, a "week" was a rash generalization. The program was 2.5 weeks so including the downtime before and after it was 23 days. Training was in LA, I dont remember exactly where because they had someone pick us up and drive us to the facility, but iirc it was somewhere around Culver.

I actually didnt see a single G the entire time I was there. I didnt scour the city to find one but they usually stand out. Im not taking shots at the G community, just make a comparison between what I saw in LA and what goes on here in the upper midwest. And as far as rice goes, you cant escape that. Somewhere, some idiot will always find a way to "tastefully" ruin any nice car.

Ahhh, you made it sound like you were hanging out in Santa Ana or maybe Irvine. Those cities I could see a definite rice factor making an appearance.

I completely agree. I'm all for car customization and creating something you're proud to own, but some don't understand the when to stop before they hit the level of moronic.

I've been in between SD and OC for the past 8 years and I have seen a fair amount of riced out G's.

Maybe this is a SoCal thing, Here in Texas as far as what i have seen there really is no loss for respect. Still go to a few car meets here and there and people still love em. but then again most of the riced out VQs here are 350z's lol

Totally off topic (Kinda, we are talking about socal) but I drive between Carlsbad and SD a lot and all i usually see are bone stock G's and sometimes a modified Z, but I havent been to any meets yet. If any of u Socal guys see an 04 DP coupe (w/ AZ plates) on silver RPF1's and dark tint cruising on teh I-5, that's me

So, you've owned a G35 for only a month now.........sounds like you have a lot of experience spotting other G's

Sooner or later it will always be time to move on. G35 is officially 10 years old now. Thankfully it still looks sleek/modern at least.

I been through this same phase many times before...Accords, Integras, Preludes, now the G35.

The silver lining is....it's always time to upgrade to a GT-R

I disagree. The design of the G is timeless, and looking at new cars there really isn't much that I would consider to be an upgrade in terms of style.

I still like my G as much as anyone here. But with all due respect, i've heard that same "timeless" line for almost 20 years now. Very very rarely does a mass production car actually become timeless. It's usually some exotic car that get remembered fondly...and even that's rare.

I know, I know, everyone will disagree. But here's the thing, it'll take another 5-10 years from now before you can look back and realize your beloved car was just "meh."

Take the 300ZX (1990-1996) for example. Huge following and big love back in the days. I swear people talked about it like God Himself drove one. Fast forward to today, find a nice pic of a ZX, then look at today's Z or G, and tell me how you feeel about the ZX now.....

I don't know about other people but I still see the z32 like that. same goes for the mark IV Supra, FD RX-7, s30 Nissan Z, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1969 Camaro RS/SS, BMW e36, and plenty of others. A truly great design is great no matter how much time goes by. and really I don't see too many people who really remember specific exotics. Maybe the Lamborghini Countach, but usually not for any good reason.

I dunno, as far as exotics the 360 Modena comes to mind pretty quick....

^not sayin that they are all forgettable, but generally they look like door stops with lights and windows, and are forgotten as soon as the next model comes out.
