Sunroof and headroom question

I recently purchased a G35 sedan for my wife (which I love), and am now considering getting a coupe for myself. I have only been in a coupe with a sunroof, and even with the seat in it's lowest position, my head is very close to the headliner. If I got a version without a sunroof, would I have more headroom?

Re: Sunroof and headroom question

I believe a coupe w/o sunroof does have more headroom but since I have one I am not sure..With mine headroom was a problem at first. However after a week or so of adjustments I was fine. Most drivers adjust the seat back back (sounds funny but you know what I mean) to gain headroom. I have had to do this in several other cars too. I'm 6'21/2" ,195lbs and fit fine. The seats definitely take a little getting used to.

Re: Sunroof and headroom question

The seats is the sole reason I haven't ruled out buying a Z. There something about the seats I'm not sure about. Maybe the bottom cushion is kind of short. Also, my hair scrapes the roof with the seat all the way down. I'm 6 feet, but all legs, so I don't understand. I wouldn't buy the G without a sunroof. The seat in the Z fits like a glove. I have 3 kids, so I rather buy a G, but the seat might end up being the determinig factor. I have a 2000 Maxima SE and I didn't like the seat from the begining. I don't want to do that to myself again.

Re: Sunroof and headroom question

I never quite felt comfortable in the seat, either. My hair was always hitting the roof, too. I'm 6' 4" so I definitely need the room. The only time I sat in a Z, the seat definitely fit me better. Since we have a baby, though, the Z is probably out of the picture. I like the longer wheelbase of the G better, anyway. I think I will have to look into a car without the sunroof. I don't want to be forced to drive in a semi-reclining position.
