Window motor works, window wont go up.

So my window motor was acting up lately so i decided to take it apart and replace it.
When I took the window motor out of the "window lift gear" I can tested the motor still plugged in and it rotates without any issues, but as soon as I put it in the bracket it stops working.

Any idea why?

Is the motor dying and its not strong enough?
Should I check anything else?

Thanks in advance!

Make sure your car is actually turned on all the way not just the power, the window motor may not be getting enough power if you just have the key turned in the on position

From what I have read the OEM motors tend to get alot of dust buildup on the brushes & get really weak especially in hot weather.

I've been having intermittent issues with the passenger window on my G that are exacerbated when it has been in the sun all day at work.

The dust buildup is a result of brush wear...The worn brush particles find themselves everywhere within the motor. Replacing the brushes solves the problem, but is extremely time consuming.

Try cleaning the motor. If that fails then you may need to replace it. I hope that you tried to reset the motor after taking it out and re-installing it. Last thing would be a bad regulator.

Check out this DIY: https://g35driver.com/forums/body-in...l-removal.html

My window makes a thud every time i roll my window all the way down and up, i replaced the motor a couple years back, and the other day when i rolled it up it would drop a quarter of the way down.. Does it need to be reset or replaced again??

needs to be reset. You should have reset it wen you replaced the motor.

I saw a video review of the G35 on you tube and the reviewer pointed out this exact issue.
