Driver window drops down when I close the door

I am having problems with the passenger window. It rolls up and down fine but when I close the driver side door the window glass goes down by itself. I can roll it up when i am inside the car but i drops the moment i open the door and close it. I dont think its the switch as the passenger window operates as it should. The motor is fairly new (rebuilt).Any suggestions? My mechanic is clueless. I am thinking of taking it to the dealer but fear that they will charge me a lot or replace the switch and the motor without trouble shooting the problem.

Window motor needs to be reset.

1. Remove door panel.

a) Remove screw at door open pull.

b) Remove door handle trim, pry silver plastic trim piece from lower side
with a screwdriver. There's a small notch for the screwdriver blade to
fit in. remove the two screws behind this cover.

c) Lift window switch plate up from the front edge it just pops off.
Unplug wire harness.

d) Pull door panel off, clips hold it on, start from the lower edge.

e) Remove door lock and handle rods from the levers.

f) Unplug courtesy light at bottom of door.

2. With the door open, lift UP and HOLD the Window Switch until the Window is fully closed.

• Do not use the Window auto-closing function

• Do not release the Switch before the Window is fully closed

3. Get inside the vehicle and close the door.

• You need to close the door so the Door Switch is fully depressed

4. Press and HOLD the Window Regulator Motor Reset Switch. While holding the Reset Switch, press DOWN and HOLD the Window Switch until the Window is fully opened.

• Do not use the Window auto-opening function

• Do not release the Switch before the Window is fully opened

5. Release the Reset Switch. Then, lift UP and HOLD the Window Switch until the Window is fully closed.

• Do not use the Window auto-closing function

• Do not release the Switch before the Window is fully closed

6. Open the Door to release the Door Switch. The Window Glass should partially move down.

7. Re-install the Door Panel.

Window rolls down automatically when door closes

Thanks for the comments. Per instructions the door window reset button has to be pressed. Can some one post a picture of this reset switch. I am going to open the door and will try to reset the window today. If pictures can be posted, it will save me time and effort.

This is a great forum

Window fixed

This is such an awesome forum. I used the ten second method. I rolled the window up without using the auto roll function. Held the button for exactly ten seconds. Then rolled the window down manually without the auto roll function and held it again for ten seconds exactly.the problem went away as it never existed. Now the window does not roll down by itself as i close the door. I did not have to open the door panel and press the reset button. Thanks to every one who replied.

I assume this method can be used for those who have the window rolling down half-way issue too? I had that issue, but before I could try fixing it using a reset method the motor completely died -________-

Window Problem

Well, the fix was short lived. I went to work and the window dropped by itself as soon as i closed the door. Anyway, the car
ended up at Southwest Infiniti in Houston. The service guy assured me that it just needs adjustment. He later calls and informs me that its a bad motor. Remember the motor is refurbished/rebuild by a local person in Katy, Texas. If it was the window motor it should not have operated at all. Any way dealer charged me $620 parts and labor. If I had taken the car out of the dealership without fixing, he would have charged me $145 for diagnostics. So i decided to get it fixed anyway. Dealerships are way too expensive. I just thought I will share my experience with everyone.
