Constant Beep?
Constant Beep?
So this is random but I completely forgot about it since it only happens when it rains or in the winter...sometimes after starting my car about 1-3 minutes later I get a loud constant beep noise from my cluster area...after probably 6-10 seconds it stops and never happens again.
This is probably a noob question but its weird because its not a seatbelt thing or anything like that, that I have noticed...tends to happen after it rains or during the winter season..
thoughts?

Not exactly sure, but I know my car beeps if you leave the headlights on with the door open, leave the car in a gear other than park after turning the car off, or walking away from the car while it's still on (if you have the intelligent key). Are there any lights on the dash? Post a video of what happens so we can get a feel for what's going on?

Ill snag a video next time it it rains out here with my go pro, it always goes away from a solid 8 seconds or so and never happens again the rest of the day....figured it was just a gremlin.
Oooooo I bet that's what it is, that light has been on for 3 years. I just always ignored it, never bothered to find out how to clear the code.
That would seem strange that TPMS would be going off every time it rains or snows, VDC I can understand but a TPMS alert shouldn't be dependent on rain or snow?
the TPMS beeps when ur under 30, 25, or maybe 20 psi I think somewhere around there
. It means ur critically low. but ur sensors are bad if its been on for years. mines r too. the light comes on sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. Its scary when u hear a lon gbeep like that.

Never cared enough to look into clearing it as I check my tire pressure monthly anyways.

The TPMS light only beeps when the light is off and then your tire pressure drops causing the light to go on. The initial display of the light will trigger a long beeping tone.
However, once it's lit on, it doesn't beep anymore. It just stays lit. It would help to understand what the TPMS light is doing though. Does it blink for 60 seconds and then stay solid? If so, then the beeping is not from this light. I know because my TPMS light did this for a year until i got off my butt and reset it.
Are there any other warning lights on in your dash? Anything? Are you sure all your lights work? Turn the key to ON but don't start the car. Look for the usual ABS, CEL, VDC, etc warning lights and make sure they light up. Some will go off. All should go off when the engine starts.
Do oyu have Navigation? If your oil change is due, you'll hear a beep if the screen is down.
Depending on what wheels are on your car, the TPMS light comes on at either 27 psi or 25 psi. Page 11 of the FSM.

I just bought some oem 19" wheels, snagged 3 for a great price but will need to buy 1 front and really give them some cleanup treatment "they are painted flat black but chipping etc". Looking to have them powdercoated once ive got them all cleaned up

They come with sensors, is there an easy way to test the sensor while its off the car/tire? Just curious, might as well get working sensors on all 4 while im doing the rest.
Thanks!
It's your TPMS warning for Low/Uneven Tire Pressure. It comes on anytime one of your tires drops at or below 28 PSI. I believe there may be other ways to set it off too, such as if there is a greater than 10 PSI difference between any of the tires or something along those lines.

Well ordered new wheels tonight, ill get some working sensors soon. Now off to search the internet for decent drop springs for the new wheels!
