Buddy, great story, I like what i just read. Morons like that who think their the man, or in this case the man and his peasants thought they could roll up and smoke you. I really don't care about the sti. I'm glad they lost. You should of pulled a U-turn and drive by them and laugh at them and point, and then drive off.

This info is from NASIOC site regarding the STI wing...

Highlife

I measured my STi wing as carefully as I could, and then used the LARC wing simulator to calculate the downforce. I assumed the following parameters:

Thickness: 25% of chord (2.0 in)
Camber: -6.5% of chord (-0.5 in)
Chord: 8 inches
Span: 4 feet
Angle of attack: -1.2 degrees
Altitude: sea level

These seem to be the best match to the STi, as well as I could do with just a tape measure. I assumed that the angle of attack was the angle of the top of the wing end plates. I measued this angle with geometry, not a level, so the angle of the car on the ground did not effect the measurement.

The calculated downforce is 60 lb at 100mph. At 150 mph, the downforce is 140 lb. These are increases in download on the rear axle of about 5% and 10%, assuming 60-40 f/r weight distribution. These are the numbers for the top wing only, not the deck lid spoiler, which will add a little more. These numbers are not insignificant.

Whatever. Incredible torque compared to what? 300 lbs. @ 4,000 RPM's is good, but incredible doesn't come to mind.

Look, take your WRX STi, load it with four 150 lbs. passengers, and I'll race you with my stock G35C with just me in it, and I'll walk you every time. That's the only point I was trying to make.

If you're looking to try to prove how wonderful your STi is, don't waste your time. This is a G35 forum. In respect to the topic starter, lets not start a flame fest.

Why would i attempt to prove how fast an STI is? Every car enthusiast knows its (STI) capabilities, but what annoys me is when people comment on engine specs or what a car "lacks" without knowing what their talking about, or better yet driving one at least. You make yourself look silly by applying your own opinion on actual specs without first doing some research. The internet is easy to find info you know! And yes 300 lb ft of torque is alot and it is incredible..too me! Don't agree...test drive one!

Funny how people on these sites bash a car in public , but admire it in private. I can't tell you how many people ask about my car and inquire about it's uniqueness. I think the obnoxious wing on my STI sets it part from other automobiles in a major/extreme way, which makes it, in my opinion SPECIAL. In NJ where i live, G's, sedans/coupes are everywhere. At every corner. I'm sick of this cookie-cutter society where everyone drives the same car. I see middle-aged moms driving G-coupes. I want a mans car! Looking at the amount of money you WASTED modding your G, i am going to assume you are not pleased with it in its original form!

Only women refer to automobiles as "ugly" Men look at the total package, and usually use words such as "interesting" when discussing vehicles. So change your name to OLDVFRGirl!
