the 6MT Coupe is considered "Sport Luxury Touring Car" ( as defined by Infiniti ) so...

to add to this there is no mention of "sport sedan" for the 4 door versions.

There was a huge debate about this on 6mt.net & in the end I think it came down to your car is what you want it to be LOL

Sports cars would be cars like the Nissan Z, Mitsubishi lan-evo, Subaru STI, Honda S2000, Honda NSX, Toyota Supra, Toyota MR2, Chevrolet Corvette, Porsche 911 etc. A "sporty" car is a car that is built to be a practical daily, or a luxury car, but is not built without regard to performance. In other words the suspension may be a bit softer for comfort, it may be a bit heavier for purposes of having more interior or cargo space, or maybe the engine is a little less powerful for fuel economy, but the car still performs decently overall. The Nissan S-chassis, Toyota AE86, Honda Civic (especially SI), Nissan Maxima, Infiniti G35, BMWs etc. would be examples of this. And in regards to the mods I don't think one can really turn a non-sports car into a sports car, even if it performs its still the same design as before. anyway just my .02

Said friends tC has two doors so it is definitely a sports car.
You can believe what you want, just don't try to sell that the G isn't a sports car with flawed reasoning. This last post makes your reasoning here sound even worse.

In what way? I was sarcastically saying that cars that were obviously not sports cars were based on some of the worse reasons I heard for why the G is a sports car.

There are a lot of opinions floating around, and valid points for and against calling a G a sports car.

I think it comes down to your individual perspective. My daily driver is a full size truck, when I hop in my 07 Coupe...I'm greeted with a small cabin, low ride height, stiff suspension, good handling, decent acceleration, nice exhaust note, good weight distribution, so I feel like I'm driving a sports car.

If someone has a 911 turbo or a GTR and then gets in a G, their opinion will vary from mine.

It's like chocolate:

Chocolate = authentic
Chocolatey = not authentic

Sports car = authentic
Sporty car = not authentic

Sorry, the G is not a sports car; it's a sports luxury car.
And any car can be modded enough to become a sports car, so that question is moot.

And if you want to base it on the number of doors, mine has 4 and is not modded. It can take on anything unmodded out there, and beat most of it on a track.

Congrats on your Audi RS4, very nice ride indeed. I would fully expect that a ultra performance AWD V8 that had an original MSRP of $70k to outperform a stock G Coupe or Sedan that had a MSRP at half the price. A Cadillac CTS-V Wagon will also make quick work of the G and it is a station wagon that the Griswolds could take to Wally World.

Your Chocolate comment comes across to me as less an opinion, and more of an opportunity to proclaim ''my car is faster than yours''

Do you remember the time you drove your G Coupe off of the lot? What were you driving back then a Sports Car or Sporty car?
