well a few weeks ago i noticed that my car was having a little bit of delay in going into reverse. right away i checked the fluid and it was full..... it seems when the car is cold it will go right into reverse but as soon as the car has been running for 10 min the car dont wanna go in to reverse. all forward gears work great still no problem just reverse.... any ideas guys my car just turned 80 k.

when was the last time you had the transmission serviced & fluids changed?

Cut a hole in the floor board and add a hinge. Then put the car in neutral and just fred flinstone it backwards. Once you have it out of your driveway, head straight to a mechanic.

Seriously though, it could be alot of things. Only way to find out is take it to a mechanic and have him find out. Could be an electrical grimlin in your wiring harness, could be your shift linkage, could be low pressure in your system from line blockage, pump failure, or bad seal, could be a synchro failure, and more.

It could be something as simple as a bolt is loose in your shift linkage, or you might need a new transmission. Really only a certified mechanic will be able to tell you which.

Don't do the swap for the mere financial stance....you can pick up an OEM 6MT for what it would cost to swap your car. It is very doable and can be done, but your G will never be the same as a factory 6MT....trans, pedals, engine wiring harness, clutch, flywheel, gauges, etc, etc, the parts list goes on for days and 100 new things will pop up while your doing it, not mention your have to pull out airbags, the dash, interior........ I watched this project be done to a TL and it was a NIGHTMARE

tow it to a trans shop...could just be an expensive repair which outweighs a new/used car cost

Has the transmission fluid been changed. If it has not been in 80 K miles your overdue. As stated above take it to a trans shop with a good reputation.

drive forward everywhere you have to go. Reverse is a luxury.

6mt? Try greasing the shift fork. That's a somewhat common issue. Mine has been getting iffy too so that's what I gonna do once it's warm enough on a day off
