What car alarm do you have/recommend?
I'm tired of always worrying about my G when I park. My normal parking routine means I circle the parking lot 2 or 3 times, before I settle in and find a decent spot. But then when I'm in the store, I'm worrying about door dings, theft, haters, etc. So in the middle of what I'm doing, I have to go check on my G to make sure all is well. Does anybody else do this too? Well I figured to ease my suffering I want a car alarm. Does any body have a good alarm, or recommend one. I have the stock right now, and we know how that is. Maybe an alarm that pages you when it activates would be really nice. Or maybe I should just get help for my G OCD! (G35 Obsessive-Complusive-Disorder).
G's up...

Proximity and Motion sensor is the same thing. Usually, its 2 levels of sensors, one which chrips if someone is around your car at a close distance..and the other level would be inside your car, which would make the alarm go off right away if someone sticks their arm inside your car, if your windows are down that is. Yeah, get a paging alarm, thats the best when it comes to feeling at ease with your car. I'm planning to get one soon to as well. Just afraid that the alarm place don't know what they are doing cause our car is a fairly new car. Wellz, my 05 at least, saying if anything did changed in regards to the wiring from the 03-04.

I've got the Clifford RSX 3.5 and its been great so far.
pros:
1. Two way paging that shows if the shock sensor was triggered, door triggered, hood, trunk, etc...
2. Remote start system that also shows if the car was successfully started, good since the last remote start i've used didn't have that and would mess me up all the time...
3. Range is fairly good, although not as good as a compustar, the remote is smaller.
4. Remote although an extra thing on my key chain, is cool. Has illumination for night time and a vibrate function if you like it quiet. Definitely an attention grabber for people that aren't used to it.
5. Passive arming, shock sensor, and some basic alarm features our factory alarms lack.
Cons:
1. Battery on remote lasts only about a month of everyday use... but then again i also have the illumination set to on.
2. Range may not be good enough... although i'm impressed with the range, it suffers a lot from buildings...
It really depends on how much you want to spend on an alarm and what features you want. The Clifford RSX 3.5 cost me $400 and it comes with alarm, 2way pager, remote start, shock sensor, hood sensor, etc...
if you want range, the compustar ones are good but the pager thing is big and of course its more expensive. Only a few shops install them so you have to look around.
For the most part you'll probably be good with just a regular alarm system like a Viper or clifford model... the 2way paging one is cool though but i see you've got G OCD, so you'll probably the compustar or the highend viper/clifford model... just beware the proximity sensors... cuz they could attract more unwanted attention...
