'05 59K miles....Extended Warranty?

My newly purchased '05 coupe, in excellent condition.

What are thoughts on Infiniti Elite Extended Warranty, or any other type warranty..?

Do any of you have experience with these?

would be nice to just drop it off and not have to worry about the cost of repairs...

thanks

When you buy an 8 year old car expect it to suffer from some issues, some might be minor some may not. But do expect to have some things come up that need replacing.

If infiniti Elite protects from electrical failures, hell yeah go with it. That lists every repair I have recently made, with nothing electrical covered by my third party warrantee.

Depends on your mechanical skills vs. your appetite for risk and how deep your pockets are if something major goes wrong. I'm no mechanic so I purchased one for peace of mind.

It's basically a glorified insurance policy, so you'll have to ask yourself if you want to hedge against something may or may not go wrong.

I have yet to buy one, and in each case, paying for the minor repairs out of pocket was still cheaper than paying for the warranty + deductible.

Of course, i do my own work, so that brings repair costs way down

I bought a third party warranty. I'm glad I did. It was peace of mind for me and over it's lifetime, they covered 2 door motors, 2 tire pressure sensors, a new cat, a new passenger seat (one motor died) front hub bearings, a tie rod and I'm sure I'm forgetting some other things. It may have been cheaper to replace it all myself but it was nice to drop it off and get a loaner while they worried about it.
