From what the dealers tell me as well as what I've seen, ALL of the 6MT Coupes are being delivered with the $550 aero package (spoiler and underbody diffusers) already installed. When I first began considering buying a G35 Coupe I decided I didn't want the spoiler, but now it appears I must either special order a car without one (and wait a few months) or settle for one that has it. The good news is that the look of the spoiler has decidedly grown on me recently, and if I had to take the car with it I wouldn't be too terribly upset. Nonetheless, saving the $550 and getting one without it would still be my preference.

Have there been any recently reported sightings of spoiler-less 6MT coupes on dealer lots that weren't special ordered? Does anyone know if there will be any arriving at dealers any time soon as regular allotment vehicles? Thanks.

I just received my 6MT without the aero package a week ago.

 

Did you buy it "off the rack" or did you special order it?

 

I special ordered my car back in December.

 

I ordered my 6mt coupe without the aero package. Only options I have are the body side moulding.

If I'm lucky I'll get my coupe in mid to late June, 3 1/2 months from order to delivery.

The manager at the dealership told me that the fully loaded coupes are being produced and shipped first. That makes sense as the profits are much higher on loaded vehicles than the base models.

Sh*t I didnt know you could just buy a 6mt off the lot without ordering it!! Well I did know that but Damn is it hard to find one with the right options and in the right color. Glad my order should be in within a few weeks!! I opted for the spoiler but could have ordered without.

 

Be careful about some dealers saying the Coupe has the aero package when it doesn't. Some So. Cal dealers (I found out the hard way) are putting aftermarket rear spoiler on the car - and charging $550 for the aero package - when it did not actually come with the aero package from the factory. I found out the hard way when I dug the window sticker out of the trunk, wondered why it did not show the aero package, crawled under the car and did not find the aero diffusers, and finally pulled the wing off myself and verified it was not factory. Now I am forcing the dealer to order factory wing and diffusers and put them on at no cost - to avoid a lawsuit for fraud. It's a pain in the butt too. Fortunately, most dealers are more honest than that - but be careful and check for yourself.

 

yeah its definately tough to find the 6MT w/o the Aero package... for me i got lucky... i ordered a DG 5MT just a few days ago (5 days ago, actually) and the dealer called me 2 days ago saying some guy ordered the exact same car and just backed out... so i should be getting mine in about 2 weeks time when i was actually supposed to get my car late August... =D

 

Seems a good way to determine if the aero package is factory or dealer installed might be whether the center brake light is still in the rear window. It won't be there is the car was manufactured with the aero package. ...dean

In Canada, you must get the Aero with the 6MT... its not an option.
