Best wishes with finding a fix. I re-read your original post and it seems you wrote it does it on uncontaminated pavement as well. That does seem like there's some issue other than unfamiliarity with RWD cars.

Post back what your mechanic finds.

Just got back,

Pre alignment

Rear left Toe: -0.08
Rear right Toe: 0.24

Post alignment

Rear left toe: 0.11
Rear right toe: 0.12

Its definitely a lot better now, and i think totally manageable. I think the minimal amount that happens now is just normal for RWD.

it isnt that cold today and the roads were clear so it wasn't that bad on the way to the alignment either. I'll see what happens as it gets colder and snows more, hopefully it stays fine.

Thanks guys

So if you're going in a straight line and you lose traction with an LSD, your car drifts sideways??

You have a VLSD, which isn't quite as good as an LSD. And yes the rear end can still drift from side to side with no traction.

Does it make sense that it keeps going out. Ie it doesn't swing out then correct. It swings out and keeps going. And sometimes vdc doesn't even kick in.

I think the minimal it is doing now feels normal. But it might have been amplified with the bad alignment.

If the rear end is sliding in a certain direction then it will keep going unless you correct it. The VDC should be engaging so you might want to have that diagnosed.

Lol JKL

Ya I just went for another drive. It is definitely way way better then before and vdc is kicking in fine now. I think the alignment fixed it. It still kicks out a bit but totally predictable whereas before it was sudden and random.

Thanks again for the help. Now I need to wire in a vdc kill switch for the purposeful fun times
