6mt Problem on start
I tried searching but maybe i was not typing in what is happening accurately. When i start the car in neutral and then let off the clutch the car will lurk forward a little bit. I am not sure why or how this is happening as the car is in neutral and i am only letting off the clutch. It does not move enough to hit a car in front of me if i am parked in a spot. But, should it be doing this? I have adjusted the clutch pedal down some if that may be doing it but i am not sure why it does this exactly. Thanks

Yes I live in south Jersey so today it was mid 30s and it was the first time i started it all week and it did it.
I have never had that problem, but mine is a bitch to get in to first and second when it's really cold (relative term as I think 40F is cold), goes away after it gets the tranny good an warmed up. Does yours go away after it's warm?

It only happens on cold starts and I also have a hard time getting in to second if i just start her up and take off. But if i give it time to sit and warm up a little then no problems. But the lurking only happens after the releasing the clutch (while out of gear) on a cold start.
It's probably because the tranny fluid is so cold and viscous that the gears in the front half of the transmission are stirring up the gear oil and it's causing the rear half to move slightly with the fluid. This is a common occurrence in motorcycles as well.
Are you using factory gear oil in the tranny? My car doesn't do this, even when it's like 15 degrees out and I'm using OEM Nissan MTF. I've had this happen on other cars that were MT in the past though when running thicker fluid in the cold.
