Is it bad for the paint to take a soakened wet napkin to get it off?

Where are you parking? There should be absolutely nothing a bird could land on above you.

I parked in a corner spot under a tree and found my car splattered. Only when I park in that spot does my car get hit. I've comtemplated chain sawing the tree down....

Several suggestions.

First it sounds like your choice of parking places needs to be improved upon. No one can have that much $hitty luck (pun intended).

Next, I'd recommend a good wax job to help protect the paint. Personally I chose polish, Zaino to be exact. You might want to consider carrying around a 100% cotton cloth (or towel) in a small tupperware container and some detailing spray in the trunk of your G. Whenever this happens in the future, simply take out the cloth and spray, clean up the mess and then put the towel back into the tupperware container. When you get home rinse out the towel and replace it with a fresh one.

Also, since you live in Tampa, you might want to check out the Florida G35 Club Forum here on driver. We'd love to have you attend the "All Florida Meet" on March 5th at Lokey Infiniti in Clearwater. There will be ~50 G's there and you're more than welcome to join us.
Trust me, I have that kind of luck But I would definitely rather have my G pooped on than side swiped or dinged up by someone else's poor driving.
Thanks for the towel suggestion. I'm sure I will get some odd looks when I'm out there wiping up bird doodie But hey, it's my car darn it!

I will be there on 3/5. As a previous Honda/Acura only person, I am looking forward to learning the ropes from the "pro's"

Make sure you clean up the bird crap ASAP! The acids from the will etch thru your clear coat/wax/etc. if you let it sit... especially in the sun.

I always keep a bottle of detailing spray and a towel in my trunk for instances like this.

I always carry a bottle of QuikDetailer, paper towels, and a terry cloth in my
trunk for such emergency situations.

It's not good to rub the paint with a paper towel, but it's better than it
etching away at the clear coat. If you're real gentle with the papertowel (moisten it
first before you apply), it won't swirl the paint.
