Trunk/glove box lights not working - checked bulbs and fuse already

Hi guys,
I recently noticed that the light inside my trunk does not come on when it is open.

There doesn't seem to be a good guide on fuses other than on the lid of the fuse box - I checked the one labelled 'Trunk Lamp DTRL', and it is not blown.

I took the bulb out of the trunk, visually inspected it and tested with a multimeter, the bulb is fine.

I checked the voltage on the contacts where the trunk bulb plugs into, and strangely it reads 2.3 volts?! I don't understand how or why it could be 2.3 instead of 12. Seems pretty strange to me!

Any ideas??
Thanks,

Check the switch that turns the bulb on once you open the glove box, might just be stuck...Gary

Actually I found that the glove box does work, as it's tied to the parking lights on this car (for some bizarre reason).
Still no luck with the trunk light though. The bulb and fuse are fine, it just doesn't light up when the trunk is open, and the voltage only reads 2 volts.

Anybody else experienced this before? Maybe I'm the first!

The electrical work on this car is really quite frustrating sometimes. I also find that sometimes the keyfob won't open the trunk unless I put the key into the ignition. Can't find any explanation in the owners manual.. Doesn't make any sense at all, why would I need a keyfob trunk release if I'm in the car??

I feel you, I'm currently troubleshooting my shifter position light, no blown bulb or fuse... Just stopped working 2 days after I bought the car

Any details on the led solution? How is it powered and does it come on when the trunk opens? Any make/model suggestions?
thanks!

Im having the same issue with my '06. It appears to be the wire harness where the trunk opens. I believe it's a common problem. Puttin it in the shop this week.
