Just got my G35c - everyone trying to race

lol Today I just had a Ford Tourus And a Chrysler Sebring try to keep up with me on the highway... Needless to say after about.. 80-90 mph They had a little trouble keeping up.... It was nice though seeing just a green spec and a white spec in your rear view mirror when they were at eye level wtih you not more than 7-8 seconds before

Same story as me in Nov 2002. The G coupe was new on the road, and everybody wanted a shot at it. The funniest thing I noticed was people speeding up, on both sides of me, and then ride in my blind spot to view my car. That became cumbersome after a while, but still funny to me.
Then every A-hole on the road wanted to make a statement. Most, I just let go. But there was one in a 1994 Mustang that I couldn't let go. From a Red light, I went to MM, and that SOB saw nothing but my tail lights form the launch. He followed me for about 3 miles and basically gave me the "surrender" flag. LOL! He never had a chance.
Get used to it, because it'll happen everyday. The "smart" thing to do is to just let them go. It's simply not worth the risk. Just a word from the wise.

I dont have a 6mt, and no mods and am aware there are plenty of cars that can take me, however, some guys that try to race me are delusional... Been challenged by a guy in a 4door accord, a guy in a Ford Explorer(hahaha) and 1 guy last night at a red light started revving his engine and looking at me, he had a Benz hatchback (forgot the model name) Was he serious/??? Are people kidding themselves thinking they are going to win or do they just like to race whether they win or lose...???
I advice you to read the manual... It says do the oil change after 3700 miles or 3 months (whichever comes first). You must get to 1500 miles before you can run the car. If you spend the money on such a car, at least spend the time researching!

I find the racers annoying b/c I really have no interest at all. I live in an area with a lot of 'rich kid' syndrome where some of the younger kids want to race in daddy's (or mommy's!) Ferrari, NSX, or SL65. They'll do everything to get my attention from weaving around to passing and slowing down. Most of the younger crowd are good, but there's those rotten apples that ALWAYS seem to driving around.
I'm glad the cops are getting more prevalent in the area (especially the 2 lane suburban roads w/ lots of homes). We've had more than a few deaths in the area from racing, and it isn't always those who raced who were killed.
Have fun with your car - definitely something you can do without racing it on the streets. :-)

Dont sweat it dawg. I live in LA, and have some mods done to it. Nothing major, just some nice and simple touches. And I get a load of hate pretty much every other red light I pull up to. It doesnt even matter what they drive. They'll try to race you with whatever garbage they drive. Of course, I got that same sort of **** when my car was bone stock too. The car itself just looks that certain way where it'll catch eyes. With that being said you will have people buggin. Just ignore them or smoke them. Depending on what they drive of course.

Happened to me a couple of days ago. I was sitting at a light when an celica pulled up. He reved, I reved, the light turned green we took off and I smoked him. He was so busy trying to catch up that he almost slammed into the back of a Saturn. I know it was dumb to race this guy but I was just in one of those moods.
