Skyline???

So everyone knows about the new skyline that is supposed to come out I believe in '06. And I also heard about a turbo 350z coming out end of '05.

Well anyways, the new skyline is supposed to have at least 400+ hp, and lotus suspension. This all sounds great but the price is set around 70k. Why is it so high? I mean, yea it sounds great but it still sounds a lil lacking to me for that price.

The new Z06 is supposed to have 500+hp and weighs a substantial amount less then the G35. So let's say the new skyline has 450 hp, lotus suspension, and weighs 3500 pounds (like the current g35). How is that gonna compete against a 500+hp, 3200 pounds Z06 (and vettes have some damn good suspension as well).

The new Skyline might look great, but Vettes look damn good as well. Seems like the name SKYLINE is costing a good amount of money. And if it's gonna be based off the G35 body style, then is it just gonna look like a damn G35 with a bodykit? If Infiniti wants to compete in that sports car price range, I think it will be very difficult. Infiniti better have something else up their sleeves. All this is IMO.

I think the supra will cost more than $40k. Under 30K? there is no way they put the name Supra on it. More like Celica.

I read somewhere that the new supra in 07' will have a V10 engine. I believe in the same articale from the magazine that has the "07" GTR in front with the G35 body kit. price is suppose to be set around 80kish for it

Thumbs up

The new GTR is also AWD, major difference with 450hp ans awd, its a very advanced system, and that 70k tag.. thats what it translates to in US$ from JDM. The new Supra is a Lexus, v-10/v-8 still out on that, and its a supercar status with a 6 figure price tag. I for one love vettes, always have, but I'd take a GTR anyday, no questions asked! Thats what I have read, know, and or feel. Peace

I read this off caranddriver a few weeks ago. However, I just did a search and all I can find is "Son of Supra" priced waaaaay above $30k with a V10.

I am sure I read about the $30K Supra because the article talked about one of the biggest problems of why they ended the Supra: it's price tag. They also mentioned to compete with the 350Z, which starts around $26K. So yeah they may have a base Supra for roughly around $30k in 07, if that article was not bs'ing. If you think about it, it's not that hard to believe. They'll steal the market if they release one under $30K!! but it'll have to have at least 298hp

also
reports are saying that the GTR test mule is already doing faster lap times around the Nurburgring then the new Z06 and the 997 Turbo.
the next Supra is not coming. Toyota is putting all the money into developing the Lexus super car. its not gonna be cheap either. i dont think the original supra was under 30k. it was priced similar to a M3

1st of all Inspector the G35 is the Skyline, in Japan. And if you don't know anything about the 'Skyline' don't knock it. Yes I do agree the $70k is steep but it's not confirmed, that's just the price in dollars compared to the yen right now. I mean do some research on the G before you start complaining about something you obviously don't know anything about.

actually it's called the Lexus LF-A according to the recent information from the detriot auto show, caranddriver, and roadandtrack and it's gonna be a six figure car to compete with chryslers ME and fords GT. It does have a v-10 and here's the pic from the detriot auto show. This what i heard, correct me if I'm wrong please because i would love to see the supra come back .

Calm down Iron Rice. I would research more info, if there was more actual info to research (that was confirmed). I'd probably take the new GTR over the new Z06 because I think it'll offer more "all-around" performance then the Z06. Jesus, why are you so serious.

No he means the '07 GTR that will be released in 06 like most cars the preceeding year. And the feb issue of Compact Car just released a photo of the 07 Supra, its going to be 500Hp and carry a price tag of $100,000.

The Skyline GTR is going to have 450Hp V6 TT engine (or V8 N/A which Compact Car rules out as possible). Price tag of 70+K is correct.
