Unhappy My Last chance to choose !!

HI, guys

Well it's my last chance to choose between two cars. I have been visit G35driver.com over than 8 months and I was looking for feedback about G35 Coupe. Because next Friday am going to place an order for a car, So I need your advice for this car.

I was wondering between
-GTO 05
-G35 Coupe 05

I know there is a big deference between these cars but this what I am looking for.

I asked my friend what car you recommend for me ha says: GTO are faster but the quality in this car is poor. On the other hand; the G35 make people turn head for it.

Do you guys really recommend this car for me?

Its a G35 forum, I think everyone will recommend the G35.

I've owned the G for over 4 months now and I cant stop feeling happy to have chosen it as my car. Having 40k to spend on a car, I had penty of choices, and I KNOW (not think, but KNOW) that I have made the right choice. I love my car to death and well... if a Test drive between them hasnt made your mind up, then words wont do the trick either.

The G35 looks so much refined, its more luxurious and well, Japanese cars, I think, are better than American (as a whole).

If you love going fast on a straight line and dont care how the car feels and the luxuriousness, well go ahead get the GTO.

I wanted a 1999 VR-4 (Mitsubishi) Myself, but I couldnt find one with less than 20k miles with red on black so I had to get the G. After getting it, I dont regret. I thank god for not letting me find the VR-4!

Just look at the resale value of both cars. Go to Autotrader.com and you'll find '04 GTOs for $23k, and at the same time '04 Gs go for $30k+. This should be a BIG indicator of how well both cars maintain their value. HP and TQ aren't everything there is to a car though... you have to look into things like insurance, whether you'll be able to drive it all-year round (depending on weather), etc.

The GTO is pure American muscle, it's rare, and you're getting a Vette engine with a Pontiac badge. With the G on the other hand you get a lot more luxury (the GTO doesn't even come with Xenons), the prestige factor is definitely there, but everyone and their mother drives a G. The GTO will be able to destroy a G in a straight line, but the G will outhandle the GTO. Are you getting stick or auto? It really boils down to what you're looking for in a car.

IMO - For the GTO you're spending the money for the engine, but for the G35 you're spending your money for the whole package. I prefer the latter, only because of my experience in driving friends' Pontiacs and being part of monthly leased rentals for my job and renting Pontiacs...long term they are not build right.

I mean, engine seems to remain solid, but I have driven Pontiacs where windows wouldn't go down because of the cold (not freezing, just code) or the doors wouldn't shut (which is quite annoying). Plus over time, they just look outdated...but then again, I never been in a GTO, but I expect the same type of quality build since it's a Pontiac. Plus, everyone I gave a ride for in those vehicles thought the vehicle was extremely old and cheap looking inside and out, even if it was a 2005 rental and said I should rent better cars. I got annoyed, so I'm currently renting an 05' Mazda 6 for this month and an '05 Altima next month, feels like an upgrade to me. No more Pontiacs for me...just my .02

dude, i believe this is no hard decision at all.

Pontiac = never heard of reliability, stylin, or comfort. they've heard of power though.

Infiniti = heard of everything and developed what the people wanted.

Get the G that way you WILL be happy. is value something to you? if the pontiac had 500hp for the same price as the G, i'd still get the G. the G will be worth more in the end. as far as the maintenance, i'm positive the GTO will be a grip.

If you base your decision on looks, the G wins hands down. IMO the GTO looks like a last gen Pontiac Grand Ma with less plastic body panels. The G will give you better handling, better mileage, higher resale value, more reliability, luxury, and premium brand status. If you don't want to be noticed get a GTO.

Yeah really. The GTO is completely unproven and its a Pontiac. The difference between Pontiac and Infiniti is enough for me to go with the G35. Not to mention the lines on the G35 are the best on any car under 45K IMO.

The G35 has 3 years under its belt and its only getting better. Trust me, you'll feel classy, luxurious and sporty at the same time in the G35. I saw a GTO on my way into work this morning and I just couldn't think that car would do well because its a Pontiac and personally, I thought it was pretty plain looking at the exterior.

if you went with the GTO, in one year you would regret it. In four years, you'd hate yourself...for multiple reasons...one, depreciation, two, it's american so it bound to need work. My father-in-law bought a BRAND NEW Chevy Malibu and in 3 weeks he needed the tranny completely replaced. It was an automatic! My Exploder had nothing but problems and my year old Tahoe has had some axle clicking issues twice. Stick with the G and of the above problems will be pretty much null. Good luck!
