When you'll be asked what you drive.... what would you prefer your answer to be? - “I drive a Pontiac” or “I drive an Infiniti”.... - there is your answer. Pontiac whether it's a GTO or some other Pontiac model, at the end of the day, is still just a Pontiac....

Just curious though... did you post the same question over at the GTO forum? Just wondering what could be their reasoning for buying a Pontiac over Infiniti.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I'm interest to know what Speedoholic pointed out. Did you ask this on the GTO forum?

If you have any love for turns and curvey roads get a G. If you want to haul @$$ in a straight line get the GTO.

Before I got my new G, I was considering the GTO. Talk about a "stealth bomber". Cops wouldn't even give it a second look! If you want to haul *** without getting noticed, I can't imagine a better car to get. For a Pontiac product (which is actually made by Holden in Australia, with a Vette engine thrown in it) it has a nice interior with great seats. However, I just couldn't resist the looks of the G and the G is all-around the better car (better combo of all the things I desire- performance, looks, comfort, quality) with a better warranty and better resale value. The GTO pedal placement is terrible also, which would drive me crazy every day. If I had extra money laying around, I would buy one since you can get them ridiculously cheap, since it would make such a great stealth bomber.

A co-worker of mine has an 04 GTO 6MT and it is really not bad. The interior is probably the best GM interior outside of the new Cadillacs that I have seen. The seats are unanimously praised by the automags and the corvette engine is awesome. The exhaust note is really, really wonderful. That being said, the exterior is utterly forgettable, only has 17 inch wheels, cursed with the damn CAGS gear lock out to save gas, and no sunroof available. Personally, I would get a G35 coupe, but if you like speed, and effortless tire spinning torque, get the GTO.
