So my car was leaking oil. I bought new valve covers and gaskets also put in new spark plugs. Now my check engine light is on. Any reasons why it would come on or what's causing it? It's an 04 coupe with also 85k miles on it..

Go to a local auto parts store and have them read the trouble code/s. There are too many things it could be for us to throw out general solutions.

You can get it checked at any auto parts store (sometimes you will see a sign saying they will check for free)Originally Posted by kchar92

However you can also purchase an OBD2 reader, I found one cheap on Amazon that works surprisingly well.
Couldve sworn I paid $15, but now the item is $20
