You have all seen my ride. You know its not a shitty looking job. Dip gets a bad rep because SO many people who think they know what they are doing use it and it looks like CRAP. Not many people actually spend the time on it. Its like vinyl wrap, or window tint. When you do it yourself it looks terrible. Take it to a professional or spend all the time doing it you want and then it will look good. No bubbles no scratches etc.

But really, its because some of us are harsh to the newcomers here. I know that I have ripped into a few of newcomers a time or two..... I also know that a lot some people see plastidipped cars more than others. The general consensus on g35driver is that we dont like plasti dip. Why I speak out a little more often on dipping threads is simply so that the people who think of doing it do it right. I am more than willing to walk someone through how to dip their car. IF THEY DO IT RIGHT.. Thats all. Also, im not tired of it. Its better and more fun to me than explaining drop, if wheels fit, etc.

I look forward to reading and viewing your build thread later to see more info on applying it properly etc for a smooth finish.

I used oracle gloss black vinyl on the overhead wakerack on my brothers 35ft sea ray. Unfortunately the vinyl did not stretch or hold on curves well so Ill be removing it this summer and going to just plasti-dip it gloss black. Ive used a lot of vinyl on vehicles and just about everything but the oracle stuff we used just did not co-operate. I'm sure a different brand of vinyl would work well but spending 4+ hours wrapping and still requiring a seam or two vs plasti-dip is a no brainer in my book for that application.
