Broken Clock Spring?
What's up everyone need some help diagnosing an issue I caused.
Yesterday I was replacing my old busted up steering wheel with a restored one. As I pulled off my old wheel, a cable was caught and it pulled off the cover to the clock spring. The long ribbon cable completely unwinded. I winded it back it place and tried my best to put the clock spring cover back on.
I continued the install and finished installing the new steering wheel. When I first started the car everything worked perfect. All the controls and horn. No lights came up on the dash. However, when I turned my wheel I heard a CRACK.
Airbag light immediately starting blinking and all my steering wheel controls including the horn stopped working.
I have not had the chance to take it apart and check out what cracked but I am pretty certain I broke the clock spring. Once I go back to check it out what should I be looking for? How could I tell if I damaged the clock spring?
Thanks a lot in advance everyone!
