I have good ears...

I'm just getting better in recognizing g35 coupe exhaust just by listening to it. everytime I hear this beautiful exhaust sound from my apartment window, I new right away that there's a g35 coupe passing by.. and i'm always 90% correct...
haha.. I just thought it's pretty funny..

I always thought mine was quieter than everyone elses also, until my wife dropped me off at work one day. When she pulled away, it sounded just as loud as the others that I hear. And it got some head turns too.

Yup, totally normal...Thats why I wont be changing out this exhaust unless I ever go FI...To me it sounds loud and beautiful when I hear other G35's come passing by...I can't get rid of that tone, unless its necessary...

So EVERY time you have heard a G and called it, you were correct? I figure you would get caught out by a Z more often than not!

I bet you wouldn't recognize mine just a "tad" bit louder than your average G...

You are good only when you can tell the G, FX and Z apart =)
Now, I'm good.

How would you characterize the difference of the exhaust between the G and the Z? Are they pretty similar?I heard a Z once pass by and it was impressive.I haven't heard a G pass by and hearing mine from the inside is not quite the same sound level.

Stock for stock they are REALLY REALLY similiar! I have a good ear for engines and exhaust notes and would not bet money I could get it right just off hearing one!

They are very similar, however the G's exhaust is a tad bit louder...Maybe not at WOT! but when cruising through the gears at a moderate pace it is louder then the Z...I've had Z owners tell me themselves that they were shocked to hear that our exhaust note is a little more aggressive...
