It is a personal choice. Do what makes you happy. I spent 20k in mods last year on a 12k motorcycle, now Im selling it for 10k. I paid 32k for my G37 coupe in 2008, put about 18k in mods, sold it in 2010 for 20k. You mod for enjoyment, not for returns.

Never go into modding thinking it is an investment. You should basically accept it as a complete loss and dont ever expect to get any of it back. I will say, without FI, the G35 doesnt respond to mods at all. If you want appearance, fine. If you want power, you are much better off trading for a car with power.

not at all and especially if you flip through cars every 2-4 years, then its becomes not only not worth it but also financially irresponsible. This is of course assuming you make 50-80k a year in a stable job and no major expenses and/or average sort of income. If you have money to toss then have at it, your car, your choice.

I really really hope you didn't mean you still owe $17,000 on a $8,000 car.

great mileage. In all seriousness, don't mod it. Give it a bit of time and instead pay off the loan first, make extra payments instead of the mods. It's a smarter financial decision.

17k, just started making payements, got it like 2 months ago

wanted a g ever since i was a little kid playing need for speed lol...

but got to choose a car from carmax, and their finance rates were the lowest out of all the dealerships i could find, so i ended up getting it at 3% for 60 months (dad co signed, but I pay it off)

Invest in the stock market and go do it today. The market took a 2% dive and lost 230 points. Lots of tech stocks are cheap and I would be looking at yahoo right about now. They have an IPO coming up for Ali Baba which is supposedly valued between 100billion - 140 billion. Yahoo has a 25% stake in AliBaba and the current stock price is very cheap. Oh shiet you were talking about investing in the G35. WTF question is that man. Since when do you invest in a DEPRECIATING asset. Man you need to go back to finance 101 and really pay attention on what to invest in and what not to invest in.

LOOOOL. That made me laugh but yes, I used "invest" wrong, didn't think everyone would take that term seriously, when I just meant "spend money on the car"
should have just said that. smh.

You easily overpaid by 6k. I am shocked a bank would even finance you for so much over the value. For acouple grand more, you could have had a nice G37 coupe. I have seen several 08 G37 coupes with 40-60k miles going for under 20k. My local dealership had a 2011 AWD G37 coupe with only 18k miles listed for 21k.

I think carmax has a 5 day return policy. You really should take it back and find a decent priced G.

eh, would've been nice to know that before, but i guess i learned my lesson.

but like i said i bought it 2 months ago, so that 5 day return policy is no use

It hink its fair with the low miles. When ur done or tired just Sale it back. I think their system is based on hot demand. Offered me 12k for my 05 at 80k. They turn around and sale their cars for top dollar, so they offer more.
