After car wash, car feels loose and slippery.

Right after I got a car wash, I drifted on to the highway and ever since my steering feels extremely loose and not tight like it has been. I feel like my lower control arm bushings are busted but what would that have to do with a car wash?

Sorry worded that wrong. It was unintentional. My back end gave out while I was turning due to the wet tires.

If its really that much of a difference you should look into more serious things like your wheel bearings and ball joints. A lubed up bushing would only cause easier steering, not loose handling. I know what you mean when the bushings are wet, but you seem to be dealing with something worse.

oh then it might just be a wet bushing. If that was the problem, how would I fix it?

Mechanic looked at it and all bushings and joints look good and lubed properly. He said the handling should be fine but its still really loose. It feels like I'm driving a regular *** car instead of the tight handling of a g. Maybe if I get sway bars it will tighten it up but I still think something had to happen to loosen the steering up all of a sudden.

I wouldnt pull the troll card. wash this an automatic carwash? Did it have a steep driveway entry, did it grab one wheel and drag you through the wash tunnel?

What you're experiencing can be caused by very worn or hard tires with a UTQG above 400 or both. Worn tires and moisture will get you sideways/loose in an instant. Check your tires, make sure they're not worn down to the wear snubs...Gary

I mean my tires are almost new. They have 95% tread. But the previous owner had the car sitting for a couple of months so maybe the tires are messed up?
