Couple questions about the engine compartment from a noob

I've been reading, searching and looking at pictures but haven't found what I'm looking for.

2005 Sedan, 6MT

1. My windshield washer doesn't work. I can't find the washer container. I see a hose near the battery that connects to nothing. Possibly that should go to the bottle? Is the washer pump in the bottle or elsewhere?

2. I have seen lots of pictures of cars with covers over both the left and right side walled off compartments. Is this OEM or aftermarket?

1: eh, not sure, I'd have to look under my hood.

2: its aftermarket. OEM has one over the battery, and the one covering the master cylinder is a modified battery cover. Just done to make it look more clean.

I'm fairly certain the sedans are the same but the windshield washer reservoir is directly below the passenger side headlight. Infiniti did not put covers over all of the compartments but you can buy those from the vendors on here.

My friends with 350Zs are confused about this... As am I. They came on 350Zs that way but the G35 has only the passenger side.

Probably a cost cutting measure. You'd be surprised at how much they can save with something dumb like that when the savings is spread over a million+ cars.

1) I believe yours should be behind the front bumper on the passenger side infront on the tire, there is a washer pump motor. They do go out. Also if possible check with a pressure air system that your tubes aren't cut or clogged and are going to all the proper ports.

2) After market.

All the newer g's come with a lid that says "brake fluid" instead of battery (which it is not)..i think this is what you were looking for.
