Z-tube What a Waste

The z tube was always for sound since it doesn't have the resonators that the G tube does. You should hear a difference in sound, I really can't understand why you don't get a difference in sound.
As far as performance gains, the z tube would never have given any performance gains that you could "feel" since you would only have seen a couple of hp increase.

This engine appears to be very well developed. You will not notice much difference in power or torque with a single performance upgrade. However, as you add other upgrades you will notice a difference.
IMHO the Z tube provides a cleaner airflow, and a K&N filter provides freer breathing and a small increase in air volume to the plenum. Thus, theoretically, in a strictly controlled dynamometer you will see a small increase in horsepower.
When you later add a plenum spacer, headers, free-flow cats and exhaust, pullies, etc you will know.

I love my Z tube. The sound is definately different. I've also noticed that my mpg went up a little too (i can control myself from going WOT too much) Best i've been able to get before the Z tube was 305 when the light came on, first tank with the tube I made it to 340. We'll see how consistant this is tho, but if it's true just a couple of tanks of gas and the thing paid for itself.
