Rear differential bushings
Rear differential bushings
So I have the leaking oem rear diff bushing. Right now im torn between energy and whiteline, mainly because whiteline is double the price. I have also read about with energy you have to re-use the metal sleeve from the oem bushing but with whiteline it comes with a new one.
Any recommendations?

I have the same problem but haven't done anything yet. There is another thread on here that talks about the options. From what I read the Whiteline one is the best bet but pounding out the OEM one can be a bish w/o the right tools.
Avoid the Energy Suspension rear diff bushings. Search around, the design isn't very secure, I came across a few threads where the ES rear-most bushing had actually popped out of the subframe.
Recommendation for Whiteline from me. Also have a saw-zaw handy to cut the ring around the OEM bushing.

Just get a Sawzall and cut the oem bushing out...easier than one would think. The Sawzall cut through my metal race in minutes. Whiteline diff bushing goes in without having to mess with any metal race.

After diff is removed, flip it over and use a big socket and a hammer to pop the ear bushings out. Socket just needs to be big enough to push out the metal frame part. It will make sense when you're looking at it.
I had the same problem and I went with the polyurethane energy suspensions, One thing I would recommend is buying the whole bushing kit. It's about $400 and was one of the best upgrades I have done on my coupe (aside from sway bars).'
With the whole kit everything is much sharper, steering input is crisper and on flat sources it corners falter. The only downside is that the ride is a bit harsher.

socket size for diff ears is 36mm for poundage or if you have access to a shop press.
Thank you!
That's because they want to replace the whole subframe assembly. Buy the Poly bushing find a competent indy mechanic and get it done for a couple hundred bucks. Read this thread.
Not really. Just not as good of ride quality. Pick up a Whiteline rear diff kit and have a shop install it for you. It will cost a fraction of that $2300.
