18hp, this is true....but they gave me a really good deal on it cause they wanted to get it off the lot. I hit 2 dealerships today and on my way to the 3rd I had already convinced myself there way noway I'd find an '04 with the options I wanted but damn if I didn't.
Thanks a lot G35Tuning, I'm sure a lot of quesions will be coming.

My Story on BREMBOS and the G35:
I've driven nothing but Dodge trucks and my latest was a 2002 QCAB Ram Sport (Fully Loaded) http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/212234 . One morning I saw this awesome red car at the Infiniti dealership next to my work and stopped to look, this was my first experience with the G35 ..... I drooled over this car and the Brembos sold it. I thought the red exterior, 18's, Nav, Aero Package and BREMBOS were so Awesome. I've only seen about 3 red ones since I bought mine last December and only one of them had Brembos. I was told not only from my dealer but also from others that a Red G35 Coupe with Brembos, 6MT (which only comes with Brembos) and Nav is hard to find.
Pleas let me know if my info on this is right.
Thanks,
sm..

Me too on the Laser Red......I have a friend who manages an Infiniti dealership in San Diego. He told me last year that they were getting a lot of complaints from people who bought G coupes with Brembos that didn't realize that they were performance brakes and were not used to the cost of maintenance. I have been trying to confirm this for months but he also told me that Brembos can't be turned when new pads are installed. Anyone know different?
I guess if Infiniti was really serious about "World Class" brakes they would have used cross drilled rotors by Brembo. Tire rack sells then for about $350 a pair.
In the meantime, I have 12,300 miles on the Brembos and they have finally stopped squealing. No real wear apparent but I have been relatively easy on them.
PS My friend also told me that the brakes on the QX56 absolutely suck. He blamed it on Carlos "the cost cutter" Ghosn.

Yes the person who posted that a quick stop from 70-0mph only is not enough to justify that the non-brembo brakes are just as good as brembos. Brembos no matter how you look at it has some sort of advantage over the non-brembos otherwise brembo corp would not be in business.
Since everyone is doing mag comparisons. from 60-0mpn and 70-0mph the g35 coupe w/ brembos are stopping 1-5 feet further than the porshe 911 and other exotics. That isnt too bad in my book. How many other 3200-400lb cars you know that can do that? S2000 can pull off good stopping distance only because is to light but the fact still remains, we still stop better than them. Brembos are one of the best features in the G35. Without them, i would have to really consider buying the car.
Its such a bummer that the 05's dont have it.....

Brembo - 4 piston front, 2 piston rear
Nissan - 2 piston front, 1 piston rear
Stopping distance is not a one-for-all performance measurement. If you have tried to trail brake into a 2nd gear corner around a hairpin repeated - you know you want the Brembos. You can't tell the difference between Brembo and stock (03-04)? Stock 03-04 brakes started to fade on a 70 second AutoX course. 70 seconds?
That being said - If someone with an 2005 G35C and wants to trade me their whole interior with my Brembos, please PM me.

"Kicking the crap out of" ???
Lol, maybe slightly, ever so slightly edging out an 04 after 20 laps on a roadcourse, but thats when the brakes on the 05 will most likely begin to fade and the 04 takes over.
Gimme a break! (pun intended)

I was at stillen the other day and the salesman told me that the reason why they are not offering the brembos anymore is that the brake pads wear out too fast and that if and when the rotors go bad they are really expensive and that customers were complaining a little too much. that's just what i heard.. run with it.

Okay, let me try saying what I have been trying to say:
Brembo people need to stop promoting your brake setup. I feel like most of you care more about how they look (the orange/gold calipers) and the Brembo reputation than their actual performance. Also, Brembo probably laughs at this brake setup. The Brembos on our cars are NOT TRACK-WORTHY....they're good for a lap or two but that's about it. The Brembos are more like a "Performance Street" setup and for light AutoCross duty. A true Brembo track setup would be something you'd find on a Ferrari .
05 people need to stop thinking your car is better just because it's the newest model year. There is no evidence that suggests that the 05 provides shorter or longer stopping distances than the Brembo setup. In a few more months, the 06's will come out and the "15 minutes of fame" the 05 owners have created for themselves will be replaced by 15 minutes of fame created by 06 owners. We all have the same car! Who gives a crap! What is this "03.5" and "04.5" business in everybody's signatures!! I took delivery of my 03 G35C literally a week before 04's started showing up on lots...should I refer to my car as an "03.9" G35C??? Maybe I'll be 0.9 cooler if I do !!!!!BLAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But any Ferrari other than their supercar varients aren't exactly praised for having the best brakes in the world. Especially pre 360.
People I know with 550s/575s hate tracking the car for extended periods of time for fear of cooking the rotors.
Even the almighty F40 is notorious for having horrendous brakes. Most people who track their F40s go with an aftermarket setup.
