Nanaso, your first consideration should be "What your state allows!" You don't want to give law enforcement a reason to pull you over. With 10% tint you won't be able to see out your rear window at night, not a good idea if you ever need to back up after the sun goes down! Talk to a tint shop, ask what they recommend and hope they use 3M tint...it's the best! You're new here, any more questions use our SEARCH!

Which interior do you have? If you have beige, you can usually go a bit darker than if you have black.

5% limo TINTS or nothing at all, windshield too.
But, on a serious note: 20% all around.

OP, what color is your G? That makes a difference in how dark tint looks.
20% doesn't look overly dark on black cars. My truck is black & 20% and doesn't look to dark.
My G is black with 35% and doesn't look like it has much tint but my previous G was LP with 20% and it looked like limo tint.
I wouldn't go darker than 20% ever. Also use quality tint so it won't go purple on you.

20% looks pretty damn dark with my TB though. I think here in CA, the legal limit is 20%, although most people go way darker (I wouldn't either). I agree with the quality tint. Do you use Groupon? I always see discounts for Tint on there, with lifetime warranty against bubbling and color change.

Here the drivers side can be 35, everything else can be 20.
I've seen people run that & it looks odd. Some go 35 front & 20 back (like my wife). If I get stopped, I'll fix it & then go back to 20.
I always go to the same shop that I've went to for 15 years, prices are ok but not super low but he uses 3m tint, does great work and has fixed any problems no questions asked.
I'd be afraid to use a groupon from some random place. You get what you pay for.

Normally I'd agree, but these places are like 4 stars on yelp. I was thinking after I get paint to get my tint redone, and have been looking around. Plus, with a lifetime warranty against defects, you can bet they do it right the first time (or they will be eating costs for the next installs).Originally Posted by ronnieballgame

If you are in Cali, keep the fronts as light as possible. I have been pulled over JUST for the tint and got a ticket once. It helps when I slide the moonroof door open to let some light in so cops can see me.
