Re: Post your kills and losses in the G

Shlt man if you knew me, you'd know I'm anything but cocky. I'm sure there are freaking tiburons that can run circles around my car, but who cares? The car was a GSX (had the original badge, used to be my favorite car so trust me I know) and clearly had an aftermarket turbo and exhaust cuz I know the stock turbo doesn't whine and hiss like this car's did.

Just out of curiosity, what's an e46fanatic who doesn't drive a G and doesn't seem to like them doing on this forum?

The "hiss" you speak of...try a blow off valve...doesnt necessarily mean its got a bigger turbo...I can make a stock C230 kompressor "hiss" via a bypass vavle.

And exactly what i said before those gsx's are nothing to mess with when "heavily modded" I used to be a proud owner of a high 11 second gsx......but now i drive a G...However I do remember when I first got it..it seemed to hiss and whine pretty seriously...just with a BOV.

Holler.

Re: Post your kills and losses in the G

Coupedit, all I said was that the turbo was aftermarket, I used to be a huge fan of the GSX (I still hate DSM for going with a V6 on the new eclipses) and I know what it sounds like stock. I never claimed it was bigger or better (though I have to wonder what kind of idiot wouldn't replace their stock turbo with a better one).

Just about every car with decent valve timing hisses to varying audible extent. Hell, even my buddy's stock '94 maxima hisses ...but I can hear a turbo a mile away and I know this car had one. Obviously this wasn't one of the 11-second GSXs, either that or the driver just sucked.

Again I'm not trying to **** on the GSX so don't get your panties in a wad. Maybe your definition of heavily modified = huge turbo, fuel mgmt, <11s but my definition would just be multiple modifications (as opposed to just throwing in exhaust, or a CAI or something).

Well, yes, if you count Solo2 autocross... but I still suck.

Street race? No.

Re: Post your kills and losses in the G

Actually, I ran into one the other night!! Coming home from the bar, a silver one ran up along my left side and brake next to me. (Remind you, I just got my G a week ago, so I haven't broken it in yet. 300 miles). Anyway, because of the low miles, I wasn't going to test him, but I wanted to sooooo bad. He downshifts, and speeds up ahead. He soon hit some traffic, and changed to my lane, so I went over 1 lane to the right, and downshifted to 5th. He saw me going around, and downshifted again @ WOT. Even in 5th @ 2500 RPMS, I was pulling on him (who was still winding it out @ WOT). If my G was broken in, and I really got on it, I would have smoked him pretty bad. Note I was originally driving right around 55MPH, and I know thats isn't the WRX's best area is. Can't wait till this break-in period is over.

Very flattering... so since I don't drive a G that concludes that I "don't SEEM to like them". Hilarious, lol... If I didn't like them I wouldn't be here. Just because I had to edumacate you on street racing 101 doesn't mean I'm here to argue.

e46, don't flatter yourself...you didn't tell me a thing I didn't know already. Not to mention, if I took any form of education from you I'd probably be drooling all over myself and incapable of cognisant thought by now.

And for someone who likes the G, you sure don't seem to say much to show it...do us all a favor and run off to join your little buddies at roadfly.

Re: Post your kills and losses in the G

I wasn't the street racer n00b who posted this comment as a kill,
"-Heavily modded eclipse GSX - had aftermarket turbo, exhaust, and intake (I love the fact that even after all the work this guy put into his car, mine was able to take it stock...hahah)".

I'd say that's very flattering, way to represent G racer!
Kudos to you, oh, and I beat a Hyundai too, it was heavily modded and I was surprised with the money he put into it I still beat him stock! haha - yes, I'm awesome.
