windows and locks stopped working

Hey guys i have an 06 coupe that i bought a few weeks ago with a bad drivers side window motor. After a few weeks of hitting the door and cleaning the motor it finally went dead. new motor wont be here until tuesday but today my windows and locks wont work at all from any switch driver/passenger.my passenger side window went down today and will not roll back up.the only response from any switch on either side is from clicking down on the passenger window switch and it clicks and dims the dome lights.
Only thing i can think of is maybe water shorted the switch(ive been driving without the door panel and today it started pouring while driving and water was dripping down to the floor where the switch and harnesses were laying)
Some more info:
both panels on drivers side is off
i installed a window motor from an altima today while waiting for my new one
this happened last week but worked again after about 10 minutes
locking and unlocking from key fob still works
switches on drivers side light up but not on passenger side
wtf is going on

Think of which door opens and closes on a car more than any other. Odds are that you will find some breaks in the wiring harness between the door and car body.

I really dont think its the harness. i feel like its the master switch that must have gotten shorted from the water.any more opinions before i order a new switch?

Water dries up and does not keep a switch shorted - as I said before every problem I have found involving door locks, windows, etc has normally ended up with the harness between the body and door having breaks in the wiring. Think of a piece of metal that you keep bending back and forth - it eventually cracks.

I agree with CHASRACER -- IT IS THE HARNESS BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE BODY FRAME. I have a similar problem that started with my 05 coupe driver's window (intermittently). I read all the window fixes and took out the window motor, cleaned the brushes but no improvement. I replaced the OEM motor with a rebuilt motor -- no success. Discussed the problem with an Infiniti specialist who stated that the rebuilt motor was malfunctioning, and I should have purchased a "real" Infiniti window motor. He also mentioned that it might be my Viper Alarm injecting noise into the CAN (communication) system. I bought an Infiniti motor -- didn't work any differently. I put the original window motor back in and assumed it must be the door switch control module. Bought a used replacement on eBay -- didn't work. (This was getting ridiculously expensive.) I remember reading a while back that one contributor mentioned the wiring harness might be the problem. (It probably was CHASRACER, but I was too stupid to listen to him, because everyone was doing the motor switch fix.) After wasting a lot of money and time replacing window motors and door control modules, I decided to play around with the wiring harness between the door and the door frame. As CHASRACER stated, there is probably no other harness that flexes more than the driver's door harness. I have found that if you open the door widely and stick your left hand fingers in the area of the dust boot, you can at least temporarily correct the problem by moving the wires around until you lose contact again. By manipulating the boot even more you can cause the passenger side window as well as the door locks to malfunction. So either the there is a break in multiple wires or there is a loose connector right at the door frame. Unfortunately I cannot get a great look at the proximal part of the harness. The dust boot easily can be removed from the door pass-thru hole (distal harness), but I can't figure out how to pull down the boot from the proximal part that attaches to the door frame, because there is some strange U-shaped clip attaching the boot to the door frame. So now after many months of manual labor, wasted time and money, I think I have located the problem but just can't get to the problem to fix it. I looked through the service manual but cannot locate the disassembly procedure for the door frame harness dust boot. Can anyone suggest how to get to that part of the wiring harness???

Keep me updated too. I went to a drive thru ATM the other day when it was storming but water still managed to pour in lightly they the window. It didn't work at all that night until I banged it. Hopefully nothing was damaged and this is not a temporary fix

I was finally able to get to the wiring harness on both sides of the door frame. I found a video on the internet on how to get to the door frame wiring harness which involved removing several pieces of trim. But actually I was able to get to both sides of the harness connector without removing any trim and just pushed the two halves of the connector together. I assumed the two parts loosened over the years, So before you spend any more money try to push the two halves of the connector together.
