Headlight Replacement

I finally made some time for the headlight replacement. I should have it completed by tomorrow, I am also replacing the amber marker lights with clear ones. Here are some before pictures and the on going project.

What are you replacing them with? 06/7s? Something custom? More 03/4s?

I bought these about three month ago and they have been sitting in my garage waiting their turn on the to do list. I am actually pretty pleased with the look and fit.

They are a direct fit, plug and play, no rewiring required. I had to transfer the ballast, ballast harness and HID bulb. They appear to fit perfect, and they look just like the original lights. So far I am really pleased.

Cool. I wanna see em on, and be sure to report back with performance afterward. Its gonna be a huge difference in looks considering the yellowing on your current lights.

Imo, Clear lights are honestly the biggest improvement you can make to a car. Even more so than a paint job.

Well, I was talking about appearance.

Headlights are actually a pet peeve of mine. I notice it on MBs the most. I swear to god Mercedes uses a plastic that yellows faster than everyone else's. Very weird looking at a car that's 2 years old with headlights that look like they're 20.

Thanks for posting about this.

So just to be clear, these are newly manufactured replicas that replace the dealer part, correct?

If so, what's the quality like? Do feel and appear to be the same or better quality?

Yes, they are newly manufactured replicas of the original. The quality appears to be very good, I will post pictures of the completed project tonight. I will also update every six months or so from now, on how they are holding up and performing.

One thing for sure, they'll look far better than the headlights currently on your coupe. If a company is reproducing first gen headlights why aren't they making '06+ projectors? There's a major market for the upgrade...Gary

Project completed, Here are some pictures of the final product. As a heads up to anyone considering replacing their headlights, have a bag of the plastic retaining clips. You will probably have to replace a few when you remove the wheel well and lower engine compartment fairings. I decided to put new ones all around, I got them on eBay a while back.
