OEM Oil Filter question

Ok so I am doing my own oil changes and was advised to go for the one with metal end caps part # 15208-9E000 but this is the response I got from the Infiniti parts guy...

"that filter is for the 4.5 liter cars. it will fit you coupe but is just
slightly longer. it is 7.82"

"The 15208-9e000 is available. We show the 15208-65f00 to be the correct filter by aplication. The only differance between the two is capacity. They both have metal end caps and check valve. The 15208-9e000 runs you the same price $5.99 plus shipping."

So have they revised the 15208-65f00 to have metal end cas now? B/C I was told that this model had cardboard endcaps...

All DIY'ers please respond, thanks!

I'm pretty sure it still has the cardboard end caps.

- Wix 51356* (8-11 psi, 96 sq.in. of media)
- NAPA Gold 21356*
- Fram PH7317
- Bosch 3323
- Amsoil SDF13
- K&N HP1010
- Purolator L14610 (14-18 psi)
- PureOne PL14610*
- Baldwin 1402

*silicon ADBV

I copied this list from another board. I use Napa Gold filters exclusively right now. I believe they are manufactured by Wix and are very high quality for a moderate priced filter.

15208-9E000 is supposedly the good one without the cardboard

I just went to get an oil and filter change today and when I suggested for them to put on the 15208-9e000, they said they couldn't do that because they only use what infiniti tells them. I said ok and let them install the stock filter. When I looked at the number on the stock filter it was, 15208-65f05 instead of 15208-65f00. I wonder if that has metal endcaps?
