What if this board had a live chat room? (also i do have a ques about bearings)

Love this site. This would be the ultimate site if there was a live chat room somewhere right?
1.)Anyways, while my car is in a stopped position, when i turn the wheels left and right I hear a loud straining sound on one side...could this be the control arm? I was about to purchase these and replace them ( i have a 2005 infiniti g35 coupe 110,000 miles)

They seem to be pressing against another metal piece they are axled to and not positioned in the center

Theres the other control arm which has a U shape shown below

but i was underneath the assumption these tend not to be the ones going bad.

2.)Also, does any have any idea what would cause some studder stops that i feel while breaking. I hear the low wooing sound but only on the front passenger side and it is enough of studders to cause a person to slightly lurch forward and backward a few times before coming to a complete stop rather than a smooth stop. My thoughts were that i need to get the entire hub replaced on the front passenger side or possibly an ABS malfunction...Any ideas?

lastly i purchased this

but should I just go ahead and purchase the entire hub rather than just this bearing??

It would be more helpful if you posted pics of your control arms/compression rods. Both are notorious for bad bushings.

Also, yes, a live chat room would be the business.

Alright here is the pic below of my straight control arm on the drivers side where it makes the sound when turning the wheel while at a stop. They said that it is supposed to be in the center rather than pushing against the side like how it is. Any more suggestions?

Yes, your lower control arm bushings are shot. You can just replace the bushings tho; most people swap them out for polyurethane (which I strongly suggest). They also swap the compression rod bushings with polyurethane, but the comp rod ball joints are irreplaceable, so you may wanna get new compression rods and poly bushings and put a whole new setup in there.

Whiteline, energy suspension and Armstrong all make poly bushings for our cars the Armstrong is a one piece tho, so I'm not a fan.

Dorman, raybestos and mevotech make replacement arms that are much cheaper than oem. All available at rockauto.com

Are these the compression rods that you suggest changing (show with the arrows pointing to them)?

I found the lower straight control arms from the earlier pic at orielly for only $25 each but are you saying that I would only need to replace the bushing on them? (or would u suggest just go ahead and replace the arm with bushings from orielly)

Those are the compression rods yes.

The lower control arms don't actually need to be replaced. You can reuse them if you buy new bushings and have a shop press the old ones out. You can get new arms with rubber bushings, but this will just keep happening. The poly bushings in the LCA will most likely never need replacement. (Pending no freak accidents occur).

This is what it looks like with poly. Notice the extra heft of the poly. Also the poly is harder than rubber.

yea that poly in that pic looks a helluva lot nicer and safer than mine. Im going to have to look that up and put those on eventually.

Do you or anybody else have suggestions on whether i should change out the entire hub for the front passenger side or just replace the bearing with the pic that I first posted and have it pressed into the old hub?

I've never personally had to replace bearings on this car, so hopefully someone else can chime in. Other cars I've just changed the bearings, but this car likes to throw a few curve ***** at you. Some good, some bad. I do believe I've read more than once that its just the bearings tho.

Just google search G35 bearing replacement.

Hey another question. From the pic I posted earlier of my cars arms. Does the pic show that the control arms need to be replaced or the sway arm bars? I keep here suggestions for switching out one or the other. What would you guys say the pic shows should be changed out?
