Intake systems (Injen, JWT, etc.) problem with AC line fix?

I just recently found out about the problem since I just recently installed my JWT popcharger with stock G35 tube 3 days ago. I didn't get a clear look since it's night.. but I didn't see a problem on my ac line.. but I do know that IT IS touching the tube..

I know there are a lot of fixes out there.. Just wanna know what the best fix is? Is doing the zip ties and wrapping the ac line with tape/insulation good enough? Maybe redrilling a new hole in the headshield bracket to let the popcharger/tube go straight instead of being pushed to the right (closer to AC line)?

Also, 3 days with the popcharger.. I'm still okay right? I tested my air conditioner and it still works.. but it doesnt seem cold.. but maybe I'm just paranoid? Haha..

TIA,
Jeff

I bent the bracket that holds it in place so that it is away from the AC Line. Its not as clean looking but it definitely doenst even come close to the AC line.

Or i saw a picture (not sure if its on this site or not) but one G owner just wrapped the AC line with some stirofoam of some sort. So that would help too. either way...keep it away from the line or else you'll be paying out $$$ for repairs.

Same issue

I installed the pop charger and z tube yesterday. Just got a call from the wife saying "no ac". I had to talk her into the mod so now I'm in hot water. Sounds like you had the same issue. It appears that it is the tube being close to the air conditioner lines. Why does that matter? Was that it? What was your resolution?
Thanks

VERY EASY

Loosen the ring holding the MAF sensor housing, and give it about 1/4 of turn clockwise (IIRC). This rotation will make the MAF housing move about 1/2" from the A/C line.

I just put a 1/4" felt pad along the "area" if it does rub it will have to eat up all that felt. Quick and easy and its even black so its really not noticable.

Which a/c line exactly are you guys talking about. Is it the aluminium line right of the MAF housing. In my case there is also a thicker rubber hose under the maf housing that is also being rubbed by the housing edge. Which one is it? Halp me before I have no a/c anymore

The thin metal pipe (with that little black cap on it - circled in red in the picture below) that bends and goes under the MAF housing.

Thanks Speedoholic. I will check today whether the UT tube rubs it or not.

All right, so with the UT c.f. tube nad Stillen CAI there's ca. 1-2mm space between the a/c line and the MAF housing. I'm affraid it could rub anyway when the engine works.

I was just looking, I must have done something right because I have a good 1/2" with just the z tube and stock air box.
