I have an 04 coupe w/oem cluster. The temperature side gauge light went out and is dim 24/7. This is very annoying to me w/my OCD. I am tempted to just swap clusters as I hear replacing bulbs is a royal pita involving soldering to the board etc.

My question is do these clusters have a dim chip so I can swap it over & keep the mileage record? I dont want to swap clusters and have a different mileage. On the s2k cluster that I have swapped into a different vehicle they had replaceable chips so you could install brand new and be at 0 miles or swap your existing and keep mileage.
