Rear wheel bearing

I just replaced the passenger side rear wheel bearing with factory Nissan bearing and hub. It's only been 3 weeks and it seems to be going bad again. Getting roaring noise that's louder when turning left and gets quiet when turning right. This is accompanied by a bad vibration at highway speeds. When first replaced it seemed to fix all these problems noise and the majority of the vibration.
Could this just be bad luck and I have gotten a bad bearing or is there something else causing the bearing to go bad? Maybe a suspension or brake part to check or the axle?

Why did you replace only one bearing?
Are you sure it's the bearing causing noise and vibrations?

Here is how you tell if the bearing is bad

It's definitely not the compression rod bushings it has Whiteline bushings in all locations in the front. The noise gets louder when turning left and quiets turning right which sounds to me like a passenger side wheel bearing. Replacing both is a little unnecessary there's only one bearing bad. As far as the vibration I'm going to get the tires balance and see if that helps.

Another cause of roaring noises is tires. Check your tires for uneven wear and your alignment. Crappy tires can also be noisy no matter what.

Hey vq,

I recently replaced both my left and right rear bearings on my 2003 G, did you do the work yourself or did you have someone do it for you? The reason I ask if you did it yourself is because I was wondering if you performed a general inspection of your rear suspension. Have you considered the possibilities of a bad CV Drive Axle? A bad joint would cause both noise and vibration. I do agree that the tires could cause noise an vibration so they need to be ruled out.

both of your bearings were subjected to an equal amount of stress overtime. If one went bad, other one isn't far behind. Such parts need to be replaced in pairs.
Is it possible that bearing could have been damaged during installation process?
Did you replace just a bearing or you got entire hub assembly with bearing already pressed onto it?

Best method i'd found to find bad bearings...

Pull off all your wheels and tires and remove the brake rotors. Grab each hub and turn it by hand. If the bearing is bad, you will feel the roughness in it right there.

Unfortunately, ive had to replace 3 on my car. That was the method I alwaysed use to confirm the bearing was bad.

To Be honest, based on your description, i would suspect the FRONT passengers's side wheel bearing is bad. I know you changed the rear, but did you check the front?
